My real & alive Barbie

The perk to being a big sister is being able to boss the little ones around.

Actually to tell you the truth, it works both ways and if anything the little ones probably boss you around even more than you do them.

But on with the story...

I was bored outta my tree yesterday and wanted to do something to pre-occupy myself. Now, I don't know who came up with the idea (her or I) but I proceeded to do my baby sister Stefanie's hair.

After much hair spray and nearly an hour and a half later, this masterpiece surfaced.

I enjoy it when my bep comes to town because I usually go shopping and do girly things that I normally wouldn't do. If it's clothes shopping we do, I make her try on the raddest things that she usually passes right on by. And it's usually those things that she ends up buying.

If it's shoe shopping, I also make her try on the biggest heels, or the brightest color out there. Of course she never buys them, but it's time well spent. This is also my excuse to do this as well because I can "blame" it on the little one (though she isn't that little anymore, were the same height).

Since the kid could walk I've managed to turn her into my own real & alive barbie doll, which is so much better than those plastic ones you can hold in your hand.

Anyway, going back to the hair. I don't mention it much but I can do hair and I'm pretty good at it. Why I don't is because I don't want to be the designated hairstylist on a friday night before a GNO (girls night out if you didn't get it).

Over the years though, I have to admit, my bep had some of the coolest hairstyles around. I remember taking her to Blizzard games at 5-years-old with bridal party updos. The older girls couldn't help but stare and wish their hair looked as good as hers.

These days, I think she appreciates her hairdos more. And she can also sit still now too. hehehe...

All the small things ♥

I've come to believe that home is definitely where the heart is. And my heart is currently in my apartment. I've been in this place for nearly a year and I've customized it to my enjoyment. It would be a lot sweeter if I could paint the walls but if I did that I'd probably get evicted.

I was sitting around trying to find something to do when I spotted my camera. And of course my canon always makes me feel so much better. Just holding it sends a soothing feeling from head to toe.

Since I didn't feel like going out and about, I decided to capture some things that are near and dear to me within my apartment.

Enjoy!

If you haven't picked up on it yet, my family is my heart, my world, my inspiration. I have pictures of them around my place because they make me feel good and homely. Most of them live back on the rez and by having these memories in view makes me feel like it just happened all over again.

The picture inside the picture was taken over Christmas holidays a few years ago of all my siblings and some cousins.

I like to get knick knacks that resemble my life sometimes. I really do believe that big dreams do start out small. I used to write in the student newspaper back in high school just for an extra credit. Now, after doing news at a national level, I look back and realize that extra credit made me realize my passion.

I can't really explain this other than saying, lighting up a candle or two or three just makes everything better. The smell, the colors, and the light it gives off, absolutely beautiful =)

'My lil sis' Taylor Marie (that bad baby, but that's a different story!) was living with me for six months. She was in an art class while going to Daniel McIntyre school and she did this paper mache of Homer Simpson. Although we had a falling out, this little piece of artwork makes me think of the fun times her and I shared living together.

My friends are also an important part of my life. I treat them like family. Included in the picture are some childhood friends as well as some college ones, some of which have been inspirational in helping get to where I am today.

The outside of my fridge looks more interesting than the inside...nothing in it. lol. There is also a sticker on it that reads ftz. That represents a story "my bro" Jerome Conaty started from scratch years ago (I'm so proud of him!). It's actually one of the better stores that The Pas/OCN has to offer. The picture on the fridge is of some family in Disney Land.

The poster I jacked from a bulletin board. I tend to do that and hang them up around my place when I know the person putting the shindig on.

Pool side...

I've been taking advantage of using my apartment's outdoor pool. I decided to take my camera down one day. The subject is my friend Kim Ballantyne. There's just something about taking a camera down to the pool when your friend is in a bikini. Bottom line, I felt like a perv. hahaha.

Here's a few pics of a quick dip. Enjoy.

ps- They also look paparazzi-ish, making me feel even more creepy.
